Frequently Asked Questions

Why didn't my alarm go off?
Make sure Wake has notification permission enabled in Settings → Notifications → Wake. For the alarm to fire when the app is closed, Time Sensitive notifications must be allowed. If you're using Focus mode, ensure Wake is permitted to break through it, or enable the Time Sensitive notification option. For maximum reliability, keep the app open in Night Stand mode.
How do I set up a barcode mission?
When editing an alarm, tap "+ Add Mission" and select Barcode. Tap the barcode row to open the scanner and point it at any barcode or QR code on an object in your home (cereal box, shampoo bottle, etc.). The code is saved automatically. Each morning you'll need to scan the same object to dismiss the alarm.
How does Night Stand Mode work?
Night Stand Mode keeps your screen on all night showing a large clock on a true-black background (perfect for OLED screens). The app prevents your screen from sleeping so it fires alarms in the foreground for maximum reliability. Simply plug in your phone and leave Wake open overnight.
What is Wake Pro and what does it unlock?
Wake Pro unlocks physical missions (walk, squat, shake), environmental missions (barcode, photo match), mission chaining (multiple missions per alarm), the Wake-Up Check anti-snooze system, Hell Mode difficulty, and premium alarm sounds. It's available as a monthly, yearly, or one-time lifetime purchase.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open Wake → Settings → Wake Pro and tap "Restore Purchases." As long as you're signed into the same Apple ID used for the original purchase, your Pro status will be restored automatically at no charge.
Is my data private? Does Wake collect anything?
Wake collects zero personal data. All alarms, missions, and logs are stored locally on your device and optionally synced via your personal iCloud account. There are no backend servers, no analytics, and no third-party SDKs. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
What is the Wake-Up Check feature?
Wake-Up Check is an anti-snooze resurrection system. After you complete your wake-up missions, Wake will send a "Are you still awake?" notification 5 minutes later. If you don't confirm, the alarm restarts after 60 seconds — ensuring you don't drift back to sleep after completing your missions.
Can I set an alarm for specific days only?
Yes. When creating or editing an alarm, tap the day buttons (S M T W T F S) to select which days the alarm should repeat. Leave all days unselected to create a one-time alarm that fires once and turns off automatically.
